Barcarolle は、Cachalot に続くシリーズとして新たにデザインされました。
共通して受け継がれた光源は、直接見ても眩しくなく、それでいてまるで温度を感じるような温かな光を灯します。自然の中にある生命感をモチーフにした前作に対し、Barcarolle は、人の暮らしや文化が歴史の中で創り上げてきた要素からインスピレーションを受けています。古くから残るヨーロッパの美しい街灯、歴史的な教会や施設といった建築、そこにある階段や柱のディテール。これらが持つある種の装飾性を再解釈することで、時代や時間軸が溶け合い、クラシックとモダンが一つに調和したかのようなポータブルランプの姿が生まれました。
高い技術で作り上げられる、一つ一つの金属部品の繊細なディテールと、空間に光のシルエットを描き出すガラスシェード。それらはまるで中世の静物画に描かれるような静謐な存在感と温かな光を生み出し、現代の暮らしに灯る心地よい光のアクセントとなります。
また、Barcarolle を複数並べて使うことで、空間の中に、ヴェネツィアの海や運河の夕暮れの水面に映る街の灯りの煌めきのような情緒的な景色が生まれます。
Barcarolle was newly designed as the successor to the Cachalot series.
It shares the same signature light source, which emits a warm glow—evoking a sense of tangible warmth—without causing glare when viewed directly. While the previous model drew inspiration from the vitality of the natural world, Barcarolle takes its cues from elements shaped by human life and culture throughout history: the beautiful, enduring streetlights of Europe; the architecture of historic churches and buildings; and the intricate details of their staircases and columns. By reinterpreting these decorative qualities, the design blends eras and timelines, resulting in a portable lamp where the classic and the modern exist in perfect harmony.
Crafted with exceptional technical skill, the lamp features exquisitely detailed metal components and a glass shade that casts a luminous silhouette into the surrounding space. Together, they create a warm, serene presence reminiscent of a medieval still-life painting, serving as a comforting accent of light in contemporary living spaces.
Arranging multiple Barcarolle lamps together creates an evocative atmosphere within the room—reminiscent of the shimmering city lights reflected on the waters of Venice’s seas and canals at dusk.
